Reclaimed wood Stock

My customers always ask where my wood stock comes from and I have my ears and eyes always on the prowl from abandoned homes from Detroit, Michigan to old homes being renovated all over Ontario.I also use rare solid wood pallets that are used to carry large rolls of steel from Hamilton,Ontario to Michigan,USA.Majority of my reclaimed supply is red and white oaks some spalted maples and silver or sugar maples.This wood is very hard to come by but my sources are plenty as I use to work in the collection services and developed relationships with many property managers,steel fabricators,tree arborist and salvage demolition companies.

Working with reclaimed wood is much harder than working with new wood from the lumber yard.The appeal is that I have room for mistakes because the wood is not perfect and neither are we.I love the blemishes the holes,nail marks,cracks and warps.Without any of these what most would call deficiencies I call it the natural way.
